DENTAL FILLINGS
When a tooth has decay, it requires a “preparation” or removal of the unhealthy tooth structure. A dental filling is then placed in the preparation. Various materials can be used to restore the teeth. Porcelain inlays and Tooth Colored Restorations (onlays) will also create fillings that are not only beautiful (or unnoticeable) but also add strength to weakened teeth that need larger sized fillings. These restorations are esthetically pleasing and very strong thanks to new bonding technologies.
The result is a beautiful smile!
The ADA Council on Scientific Affairs has concluded that both amalgam and composite materials are considered safe and effective for tooth restoration.
